If we could shrink the earth's population to a village of precisely 100 people, with all the existing human ratios remaining the same, there would be:
   57 Asians
   21 Europeans
14 from the Western Hemisphere, both north and south
    8 Africans
   52 would be female
   48 would be male
   70 would be non-white
   30 would be white
   70 would be non-Christian
   30 would be Christian
   89 would be heterosexual
   11 would be homosexual
6 people would possess 59% of the entire world's wealth
and all 6 would be from the United States.
80 would live in substandard housing
70 would be unable to read
   50 would suffer from malnutrition
1 would be near death; 1 would be near birth
1 (yes, only 1) would have a college education
    1 would own a computer
When one considers our world from such a compressed perspective, the need for both acceptance, understanding and education becomes glaringly apparent.

If we could shrink the Net's population to a village of precisely 100 people, with all existing ratios being the same, there would be:

84 who have recently asked their ISP to "put the Internet on their computer"
13 who got mad at their ISP for not telling them that they
needed to have a computer to use the Net
6 who still SHOUT ALL THE DAMNED TIME
66 who are goofing off from work
12 who are no longer working because they spent all their time on the Net
20 people would posess 73% of the Net's spam, and all 20 would be on AOL
2 who create 95% of the Net's spam
13 who are busily writing mail to decry 'those filthy perverts
        on alt.binaries.pictures.erotica.moose.chicken-wire'
22 who are busily writing mail to decry 'those filthy perverts
        on comp.os.windows.advocacy'
53 who are trying to bring down their server by downloading
        500MB of pornographic images
85 who are trying to bring down everyone else's server by
forwarding the same cookie recipe to everyone they know
7 who have just learned UNIX and are learning how to bring
down the server by writing self-destructing shell scripts
and 1 lone sysadmin trying to hold the Net together with a roll
of duct tape and a stack of chicken wire.
